The choice of the country is not a choice, but a choice of educational system. Application channel, academic calendar and cost structure vary from country to country. Below is the basic structure of the destinations we are consulting.
How to choose the country
The country’s decision is often given in the wrong order: the country is selected, then the appropriate program is sought in that country. The more realistic row is the opposite. Your academic history, language level, budget and the start period you target are evaluated together, most of the time two or three countries stand out.
Four things decide the assessment:
- Application channel. Is the application made through a central system such as UCAS, Studielink or optagelse.dk, or directly to the university? The answer determines how rigid the timeline is.
- Academic calendar. Is recent dates fixed, according to university?
- Cost structure. The tuition fee is the separate pens of administrative contribution and life expenses; instead of one, the budget is reflected.
- Language requirement. The daily language of the country is not always the same.
Destinations
Italy
A wide range of programmes across state and foundation universities. Fees are graded by financial circumstances, and there are many English-taught master's programmes.
Italy guideGermany
Most state universities charge no tuition fee. Applications mostly run through uni-assist; Baden-Württemberg charges students from outside the EU a termly fee.
Germany guideNetherlands
Many programmes are taught in English. Applications generally begin through the central Studielink system; numerus fixus programmes have limited places and earlier deadlines.
